Introductions

I am Mrs. Burman.  I have been teaching at Andress High School for 24 years in the Science Department.  I hold a BS degree from Texas Tech University in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry.  I also hold a MS degree from Texas Tech University in Biology.  I am Science-Composite certified by the State of Texas.   Overall, I have been teaching in El Paso for 26 years, my first two years of teaching being spent, first at Eastwood Middle School, and then at Loretto Academy.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for two years as a Radiochemistry technician in Arvada, CO, in an environmental lab.  We tested natural samples for radioactive isotopes as part of a larger laboratory complex that tested soil, water, air, and animal samples for environmental contamination.  My specialty was gross alpha/beta assays and Thorium 240 assays.
